Selleb is a discovery app (currently in beta) where you can snoop on what the coolest people on the internet are ACTUALLY (!) buying/loving/consuming — with receipts to prove it and juicy stories to boot. Call it (rear) window shopping on steroids. If you’re subscribed to our newsletter, you’re also automatically on the waitlist for app access. Past guests have included Hailee Steinfeld, Willa Bennett, Throwing Fits, Serena Kerrigan, Junia Lin, kareem, tinyjewishgirl, sssssoupsssss, Savannah Engel, Susan Alexandra, Jill Demling, Jason Diamond, ellapottersays, Gia Kuan, Jeremy Cohen, hellotefi, dadaeats, the creators of Industry, the founders of MSCHF, StockX, Vine, Siberia Hills, Café Forgot etc... (See full roster here) Do you have someone you’d like to see featured? DM or email us at sisters@selleb.com.
We wanted to spice things up for our loyal paid subs with a fresh weekly series — straight from the inner workings of our minds: what we’re reading, eating, drinking, watching, synthesizing, overhearing, contemplating, and LOL’ing about… Welcome to the ultra-unfiltered, unapologetically raw, no-holds-barred Selleb Sisters’ brain dump.
Expect pics, screenshots, links, musings, and rants — the kind of stuff that might end up otherwise on the back of a crumpled paper towel or napkin, in true Swiftie style (lmao I (Claire) remember the most arbitrary things, am not a Swiftie, but this one stuck with me — evidence here I guess). Also another memory: A Sweetgreen-esque chain serving napkins with some fire copy like “The next million dollar idea is waiting to be written on this napkin” or something else to that effect. Wait! I think Southwest did this too? Yes I found it — Bc Herb Kelleher came up with Southwest on a cocktail napkin.
Side note: Reddit is pretty awesome (see below). Lmao how did I even get here… A dump is a dump is a dump?
Brain Dump will be like an IG close friends, but make it Substack. You never know what you’re gonna get, but consider this the Selleb Sisters’ Second Brain.
In no particular order…
I (Claire) am a bit of a Reddithead + super-late-to-the-game film girlie who stumbled upon the comment below and screenshotted it to hold myself accountable. Kinda reminds me of those cheeky family photos taken 15 years apart, in the same place, same clothes, same pose kinda vibe — but with a seasonal twist. Never been that girl but maybe I will become that girl.
Ermine New York: Passed this store on a stroll and realllyyy like their selection. Going to try and pop in again this weekend.
Tricot x Gil Rodriguez (tempted by the cardigans)
Lots of Toteme on the Outnet…
GoPuff has Pocky sticks, and FAM membership is our highest-performing investment of the year

priestrabbi storyline never gets old but have mixed feelings about Nobody Wants This — that said, it is inspiring us to start a pod tho, eeeeek. Does Anybody Want This?Selleb Mom stays being an absolute legend. Mostly bc 1/2 the time, you can’t tell if she’s being earnest or ironic. Case in point: Claire forgot her Apple Watch at home, kindly asked Mama Lee to express ship it (step queen ting tings), and she sends it like this LMAOOO — bedecked with ribbons and a Camellia and tucked inside a Chanel box. Not ok. Got my heart fluttering for a hot sec, ngl. Still can’t decide if she was being slyly ironic or channeling Martha Stewart.
Shoutout Harry R., a new friend whom I (Claire) met at a joint bday bash with my friend Zoë this past week. Harry works at David Zwirner and put me onto the late legend Peter Schjeldahl who was head art critic at The New Yorker and has a whole archive of thought pieces waiting to be dusted off by yours truly. I’ve always felt that art was this inaccessible black box, gatekept by taciturn art dealers OR pseudo-art (Basel)-fanatics, and have approached the field with some level of trepidation/caution, despite the very strong interest. This was my sign to start somewhere. Let’s see how this goes. Stay humbled.
Speaking of art… Lorna Simpson solo show at Hauser & Wirth (want to see)
Alvin Ailey show at The Whitney (want to see)
Chloe made a special guest appearance at The New School last week (shoutout @farankrentcil for letting her take over her class) — she talked all things Selleb (origin story + company pivot + mission), leveraging Substack and TikTok for distribution, building a community / brand / online persona, and ofc, shopping recs… And in turn, she got intel from the in-the-know college students themselves… Apparently the following is what’s hot rn:
