Life-changing products and experiences that defined our year
Reporting back for a special edition this weekend (before we kick off the week with our new schedule). Our main shtick has always been: what i/you/they actually bought. So it felt very fitting to write a personal love letter to our favorite products of 2025.
For anyone new here, Selleb app users rate their purchases on a scale of 1-5, optimizing for the REPEAT factor. Bc just as important as what people spend their hard-earned dollars on is whether they’d run it back. A receipt is necessary as proof of purchase, but not sufficient as proof of love. All receipts are equal, but some are more equal than others…
In that spirit, we’ll be breaking down our top 5 in the following categories: Fashion, beauty (paywall starts here and is TEAAA), home, and experiences (in NYC: nails/massage/restaurant recs…shhh). The featured items have passed the Selleb Sisters’ sniff test, which checks for:
1) Unanimous enthusiasm. Both of us need to have LOVED the item unequivocally (“Could not be more obsessed”) in 2025 (and plan to re-buy/re-visit/re-wear extensively in 2026), and
2) Retail availability. All items have to be AVAILABLE for everyone to purchase (so no heirlooms, secondhand finds, and other one-off gems).

Fashion
Rick Owens Athena Gown (currently $339 on ssense wtf): If 2024 was all about Rick’s corsets, 2025 was all about his gowns bc we had weddings to attend! Form-fitting and flattering without being too revelatory…Also super comfy.
Missoni Robe (rlly good color/price here too omg): In-house uniform, we wear these every night without fail and often during the day too bc WFH be like that. Chloe even wears this to bed with the hood on 😂 Gotta zig where ppl zag.

AYR Secret Sauce Jeans: Buying secondhand jeans/pants might be too close for comfort and therefore a taboo for some (don’t think we need to elaborate here), but for us, it’s purely the stats that keep us out. Over the last 10+ years, only <5% of our online resale pant purchases have actually panned out. They’ve been shortened! Washed one too many times! Stretched into a new dimension! So we’ve given up on the endeavor altogether (at least for now) and instead resorted to searching for that perfect pair in the firsthand market - yup, paying retail (!). The winner of the best denim award in 2025 goes to…AYR!
AYRs are unbelievably comf, well-fitting, and check every box you’d draw for everyday jeans. Passed the Selleb Sister test with flying colors. Our personal fav is the Secret Sauce…
Miu Miu Brown Suede Boots: Favorite boots we own (says a lot bc boots are our shoe of choice for ALL seasons!!!). Flattering bc it cuts at just the right part of the calf. The EASIEST shoe to style (shorts, skirts, dresses, trousers, jeans, literally everything). Have never received so many compliments. They were sold out everywhere for a while, but more retailers stocked them this season. One of Chloe’s best friends got the same boots because they are just thatttt good. Procured them early before the frenzy hit.
Nippies Covers: Carried us through birthday dinners, holiday parties, and wedding season this year. Could not recommend these enough (have tried others on Amazon; these are truly IT). They stick on nicely and are not too sticky. Also perfect thickness. Really don’t even notice they’re there.
Beauty
Cotton Gloves for Dry Hands (Sleeping) and Working Hands Cream: Korean grandma-approved! We learned of this magic combo on Christmas. How are your hands so soft, halmoni??? She went straight to her bedroom and emerged with some answers. Success can happen overnight…

Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Eye Gel Patches: We’ve gone through the rounds and wringers trying eye patches both high and low (Selleb Sister puff factor is real between salty Korean meals and long-haul flights), and we crown this one gold for its formidable price-to-quality ratio. Gets the job done and doesn’t hide behind shiny foils and aesthetic fonts. It’s not trying to be anything but a good eye gel patch. Said differently, you’re not subsidizing their marketing budget. Cough cough.

Dior Rouge Trafalgar: It feels like Dior’s perfume selection widens by the minute, so here’s our personal all-star fav if you’re looking for a winter scent…after testing quite literally every one of them at the store early fall. Think: Red berry bomb, but make it extra sultry and epic. Bois Talisman and Thé Cachemire were the two runner-ups. We’re actually (!) getting better at making tough decisions and refraining from the dangerous default of “just get ‘em all.”
