Aaaand we’re back. Check out last week’s inaugural edition for context around our newest series featuring, you guessed it: what Gen Zers actually bought this week. No varnish, no moodboard — just the stuff that made it to checkout. This week, we have TV-show-influenced purchases (think: Victoria Ratliff from White Lotus), Coachella gear (with Selleb Sister lore and a phenomenal Khaite lookalike), regrettable Elon support from some (we won’t name names), and lots more fun…
**IMPT REMINDER** The Selleb app is currently invite-only. Pls fill out this (super) quick form to apply to get on our app. New users have been getting on in batches every Friday.
Anyone on social apps would agree that yes, scrolling through the feed feels voyeuristic but also deeply revelatory. In an era where Facetuning crumbs out of a food photo is not uncommon and strategic self-presentation is the name of the game on feeds, sharing what we actually spend money on might be one of the more honest expressions of who we are, or at least, who we're trying to become. What narratives am I unconsciously (or consciously) constructing through my Amazon cart and Venmo transactions?
Let us take you through some of the fascinating purchases we’ve observed this week, with accompanying anecdotes of why we think they’re worth your attention…
Festival fashion rundown: what products are sticking?
TV-inspired purchases + “White Lotus yellow”
TikTok tax
Elon receipts
The coat that’s about to take over your feed
1. Festival fashion is back. And better than ever.
Do you guys remember this meme?
Lol well, it’s haunted us since high school, when we dropped serious $$$ on Coachella tickets to lock ourselves in and got so hyped up — that is, until the reality of finals hit and anxiety levels went up the roof and parents were like are you crazy and we were like F it we’re taking the L… A devastating, soul-crushing high school L. Now every spring when the Coachella season rolls around, I (Claire) ask myself with some level of sincerity (and slight delusion), will this be the year? The answer is always no bc are there 756 more urgent obligations than flying cross-country to a remote desert for a music festival?? Absolutely yes. But does age/maturity quell my curiosity for what is now more appropriately named “Revolve the musical”?? Absolutely not.

One user snagged 2 cowboy boots from none other than The RealReal for the big event, which is making us re-think how much it really takes (costs) to score a pair of designer (and designer-looking) cowboy cowgirl boots.
