⭐️As a reminder, (some) Friday editions are brought to you by none other than our mom as part of the series “Selleb Mom’s Dispatch” ⭐️

Although I tried my darnedest as a mother to be a paragon of flexibility (!), chillness (!!), and spontaneity (!!!) for my children, I reverted to my factory settings the moment my youngest left the coop: creature of habit and comfort.

There is definitely order, organization, and ritual in my daily life now. A 30-minute AM and PM skincare routine performed with near-religious consistency. A running tally of daily protein, calcium, collagen, and fiber intake. Dedicated time for bills, news, self-care, and even obsessions du jour! Love that for me. That said, my loyalty has limits. The moment I stop looking forward to a routine, or when enough reliable sources start filing complaints, I’m ready to reshuffle and recalibrate :)

hiiiiii

Confession: I’m neither a trailblazer nor an early adopter! I rely on friends, family, reviews, and shoppers in store aisles for nuggets. Although open to ideas and curious about everything, I’m ultimately picky about what (also who, now that I think of it lol) I let into my life.

These are 5 things that I have recently welcomed into my life that deliver a small confetti explosion every time I reach for them!

5 Current Obsessions

1. Glass Clever Coffee Dripper:

Everyone does coffee differently. But at the basic level, you’re a brewer or a buyer. I used to roll my eyes at my kids forking up $8 for a cup of joe. But now I get it. It’s really about the routine of going to the same cafe and chatting with the same barista who knows your order by heart and being graced with an occasional “Don’t worry about it” wave when you’re about to tap your card. It’s kind of tender. Modern-day humanity served in a paper cup. BUT for your second or weekend cup, may I suggest a home brew?

My coffee credentials: My husband and I are coffee lovers. We each drink 3-4 cups a day and are strictly home brewers unless we’re traveling. Tried every and any conception known to mankind over the last 30 years, including but not limited to: French presses, tiny Italian and gigantic American percolators, auto drip, pour-over, Keurig, Senseo, Nespresso, and, most recently, the Moccamaster.

We’ve loved our Mm and used it faithfully over the last 6 years, but sadly retired it after learning about the link between black plastic and cancer! Going back to the ceramic pour-over didn’t exactly make us jump out of bed, though. It lacked bass notes. Then we discovered the Clever Dripper while we were staying with our friends in Raleigh. Shoutout to Jane and Steve!

Clever Dripper looks like a pour-over, but it has an extra feature that lets water sit in the grounds for however long you want. I let it steep for 3 minutes, then place the contraption over the cup (which triggers the drain — sounds confusing but v self-explanatory irl) and voilà! So deep and rich with all the body of a French press but without the sludge at the bottom. And this one we got is made of glass!

Clever Dripper on the left; I make minimum 3 cups for myself, each containing one of the 3 powder options above

For anyone new here, I take my powders very seriously:
