Top 10 spring transitional pieces...backed by the coolest girls of NYC
We have the spending data to prove it
As the chill of winter hesitantly releases its grip, spring coaxes us with promises of warmth and renewal. This transition is anything but seamless — demanding a puffer one day, a biker jacket the next, and sometimes…just a cardi. New Yorkers know best re: the art of bridging the seasonal wardrobe gap.
Layering is the insurance policy in these months, as you really never know what you’re going to get when you walk out the door (and subsequently, throughout the day). We’ve rounded up some of the trending items on our app as our trend-setting users look ahead with doe eyes to warmer temps. With receipts of course. You know the drill.
We’re making this cheat sheet free for all today so that our non-paid subs can get a taste of the “Cheat Sheet” series. The kicker behind these guides is that they are all data-driven, not some random wishlist saves or paid-to-promote outfits but real, verifiable purchases made by some of the most stylish, in-the-know girls on the NYC streets (read: our core app user girlies) and corroborated by others of the same ilk which we measure through views, likes, and saves. We love hearing from you guys, so let us know what you’d like to see next!
At Selleb, we arm you with the intel before it hits the TikTok FYP, so you’re the first to know what’s about to blow up, backed by actual spending data from the coolest people on the streets as well as social media. You will always hear it here first.
**IMPT REMINDER**: We now have a NEW official app waitlist! Pls fill out this (super) quick form to get on. This is a CHANGE from our previous policy that placed you on the waitlist automatically when you signed up for our newsletter. Users have been getting off in batches and a new cohort will be onboarded every Friday (this afternoon!).
From Tribeca to UES, here’s what the coolest users on the Selleb app are quietly buying for their wardrobes while the rest of the world tries to catch up…
The Frankie Shop Cromer Jeans in Medium Wash: The medium wash comfortably vacillates between cozy winter layers and breezy spring tops. We’ve seen a lot of structured, high-waist bell bottom denim in varying dark washes this winter so this long and loose fit denim in a lighter wash just screams: spring is here; let’s lighten up and try something new. So unfussy and offhand. Our app users are loving this style. Check out the pointed-toe heels peeking out from underneath the loose denim. That’s how you rock this pair of spring jeans.
Ancosti Ruched Accent Knit Set: Never heard of this brand before, but the 8th top user on Selleb’s leaderboard snagged this one, and we have no comments. Comfort meets elegance.
Aritzia Golden LIFE Relay Zip-Up: A departure from the Alo/Lulu duopoly always warrants a double-take. This oh-so-flattering jacket deserves our attn.
The Line By K Selma Long Sleeve Top: The color alone! This brand and this particular style have been trending on our app the last few months…along with La Ligne. Something about those lines.
Cos Regular Twist-Neck T-Shirt: Cos strikes again! It was your mom’s fav brand till you went shopping with her and realized she was onto something. Check out this classic tee with a contemporary twist.
Belle Siena Dress: Check out this cut, ladies. The tight bodice that flows into a loose skirt bottom is giving Khaite but at a fraction of the cost. This is simply gorgeous and catching the attention of many stylish NYC girlies, as it should.
J. Crew Ridged Metal Hair Tie: NYC girls are trading up their usual Duane Reade black ponytail holders for more decorative, more specifically — metal ones. We love Lié Studio’s version but this is a worthy budget option. To elevate a simple high or low pony.
Superdown Tawny Sweater: Like what?! We saw this top trending on our app and were like ofc it is. Off-the-shoulders, lightweight, asymmetrical, and sexy. A great night-out option and a much-needed break from the black top fatigue in which you find yourself after the long dark winter…
Maria de la Orden Fairytale Shirt: Our app users stay looking where most aren’t ;) This classic pussy-bow blouse harkens back to Margaret Thatcher and Princess Diana days. Power-dressing for the office but make it romantic and retro.
Nike V2K Run Sneakers (best price we’ve accounting for size variety): Ok maybe we’ve been seeing this nonstop ever since it was immortalized by Ashley Olsen. One of our Selleb users loves that it’s stylish without being clunky, and we don’t disagree. But ngl these are Salomons look-alikes...but cheaper… Will wait for the impulse to subside…
Enjoy the cheat sheet,
Love a round up of pieces I haven’t seen everywhere
The 2nd item (dress) has a really cute look, I’d never heard of that brand. Not sure the fabric choice is worth trying to clean and wear again. The jeans however are egregious. They look great without a person in them which may account for the sales. Might as well take a random guy’s jeans and wear them. This does not scream effortless. It screams “poor cut and wrong size.” I’m all for comfort and oversized but this is just wrong. And way expensive for that experience. Style it “I don’t care,” (how I look, how it fits, make up your own nihilistic aesthetic idea). Not trying to hate — you obviously do care and work hard. Maybe this is intended for a fuller figure? It would look just like this on me and it’s unintentionally hilarious.
