As they say, there’s no bad weather, only bad clothes. But in a city where your winter attire can make or break your street cred, the real question becomes: Do you even apply the onion principle (read: layer)? The answer is: Not really…
Winter may be the season of Netflix + UberEats (One) for a lot of the NYC superuser girlies on our app, but when they do step outside their cozy comforts, this is what they have actually been wearing (all clothing & accessories on this list except for 1) during these dark and frosty months.
In this edition, we’re not just highlighting trending brands but the specific items that are popping off on the Selleb app. Devil, details, blah blah.
REMINDER: **The Selleb app is currently in beta. We’re onboarding users in small batches but if you’d like to boost your place on the waitlist, please forward us your own order confirmations (receipts) to post@selleb.com. The more you send, the quicker you get on!**
From the UES to Tribeca, here’s what the coolest girls in the city are quietly buying while the rest of the world tries to catch up…
Soft Goat Knitted Wool Headband: Are cashmere headbands the new earmuffs?? For the fashionably acute, yes. Understated and sleek with just the perfect amount of thickness and infinite softness, they come in warm taupes (not to be confused with the loudly-colored, wildly patterned fleece headbands on Alpine skiers and/or après-skiers).
COS Square Toe Knee High Boots: PERFECT WINTER BOOT. One of our stylish superusers on our app got us onto these roomy-but-structured boots from COS… Ngl, we were shook bc COS isn’t exactly known for being “off-beat” or “edgy.” And yet. These are to(e)tal head-turners (and leg-warmers). FYI, these boots look even better IRL and since they’re 30% off, you can walk tall knowing you scored big. Still pricey for COS but we’re playing the long game (the knee-high boots are here to stay). PRO-TIP: Sold out on the US website so try going to the stores. One app user went to one and didn’t see the style on display. Being a savvy shopper, she asked a salesperson, and sure enough, they had several sizes in the back stockroom. She scored a pair for $273.
