What I Actually Bought #037
@StarterPacksofNYC on vintage Vogue, Ella Potter Says Etsy slay, and Rodin sculptures on eBay
A warm welcome to our newest members! This week, our Selleb community got a nice boost, thanks to a wave of support from our Substack friends. <3 <3 A quick intro for the new subscribers joining us this week — we’re the sister founders of Selleb, a receipt-based platform for product discovery (launching this year!). Show us your receipts, and we’ll show you cool people with similar taste profiles as you. People-inspired discovery for the win 🤝. The goal of our newsletter is to give you a preview of our app.
A fun side note: This week, we went back to our high school roots for a sip & study work sesh chez Starbucks. Second wave isn’t second-rate! See below for our yummy, sweet-but-not-too-sweet orders:
Left (Claire): London fog latte with soy milk and sugar-free vanilla. Tastes like a warm hug by the fireplace.
Right (Chloe): Iced green tea (light ice) with a splash of peach juice to jazz it up. Tastes like a summer holiday.
So most of you know the drill - This is where we share OUR finds, YOUR finds, and the BEST DEALS — honest reviews backed by receipts. Here we go…
What I Actually Bought
Bottega Pink Chenille Beanie (other options here and here): The material is firm and thick — perfect protection against the harsh Windy City winds. Got on ssense private sale for a fraction of the price. Chloe wears this with her neon orange puffer because America runs on…
Cream Nut haul: Many of you know that this is our all-time favorite peanut butter. And we’ve tried our fair share. Our vid went viral on TikTok this past summer and the price skyrocketed on Amazon shortly after (not sure if the two are correlated but the timing was uncanny!). Most recent restock below; deserves a quarterly shoutout tbh.

Chegg Subscription: Student life :/ (prayers for C2). ’Tis the season of MID-terms.
Eterne Long Sleeve Ribbed Top (similar here here and here): Eterne has buttery-soft basics that are so well-cut. Add this brand to your repertoire if you haven’t already. Submitted an offer on Poshmark and got this top for $37. Came in excellent condition. Normally $135, so this is a win in our books.
Re/Done Mid Rise Baby Bootcut Jeans in Tinty Rise: We never bought into the Re/Done popularity because the fit was ALWAYS off, but we were proven wrong this time! These jeans are like The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants because they looked amazing on everyone who was trying them on at the store in L.A. - women of all different sizes and shapes! That’s Chloe’s bestie Eden in the pic trying on the same pair (she bought 2 pairs in different colors). This style is very stretchy, so if you’re in between sizes, we recommend sizing down. At $315 a pair, Chloe was trigger-shy… But she kept thinking about them after she left L.A. — someone heard her prayers because she found them for a 30% discount on Bloomingdale’s website.
What YOU Actually Bought
@ellapottersays (viral TikTok creator who is known for making vids with her mom) / Pink Summer Dress from Etsy: “i love the silhouette of these dresses and felt that they called to me; i’m so excited to wear them in the summer and on the beach: the most perfect coverups”
@brynnwallner (journalist and founder of Dimepiece) / 100% Mulberry Silk Sleep Mask: "I try to avoid Amazon.com like the plague, but when I needed a new sleep mask, I literally didn't know where else to turn – so I logged onto my bf's account and bought this one. The internet was aggressively pushing the $80 version of this (ridiculous), calling it the "Rolls Royce of sleep masks", but I went with the $19.99 option because they seem like exactly the same product... Still debating whether or not it's actually "100% Mulberry Silk" but I don't care because IT'S REALLY GOOD. Soft, comfortable, effective. Blackout curtains for the eyes. I've been sleeping comme un bébé. My bf calls it my "Kardashian mask" cus it looks like something they would wear. Thank you, "Zenssia."”
@sash.fm (senior social editor at The Cut, creator of @starterpacksofnyc) / Vogue Paris 1999 Kate Moss (other options here and here) : “I bought this March 1999 Paris Vogue because I was interested in seeing this shoot Kate Moss did where she’s surrounded by birds. Turns out, as it always does, the rest of the magazine’s pages were dripping with taste, budget, execution— a really striking point of view.”
@kerrypieri (writer of , fine artist, brand consultant, fashion and interiors editor, and author) / Rodin Reproduction Small Female Torso (other options here here and here): “I’ve been really into delving into pinpointing the things that truly make me happy. Being in art museums is one of them and outside of going more often I wanted to bring that energy home. The Musee Rodin in Paris is one of my very favorite places so I bought a reproduction of a small sculpture that sits on a little table next to where I have my coffee in the morning. It’s a little piece of beauty to start my day with. It is actually smaller than I thought since the seller put some measurements in inches and others in centimeters and alas I thought this was 12 inches high. It does the trick until I can get the real thing!”
@sydney_lemmon (actress — Job (play that is extended through March 23), Succession, Tár) / Loop Quiet Ear Plugs: "Earplugs for inner peace. Bought these as a gift for my brother and he doesn’t go anywhere without them now :)”
If you want to share your awesome purchase(s) and have a chance to be featured in our future newsletters, pls forward your emailed order confirmation(s) to sisters@selleb.com! Feel free to add a one-sentence review. As always, we’ll check in with you to coordinate details before we post.
