What I Actually Bought #049
Library for (circular) fashion, hot Aspen mom shoe, and epic pre-summer deals
Earlier this year, Chloe was strolling up and down Abbot Kinney in LA and stumbled upon CIRCULAR LIBRARY, a vibrant new space in Venice with piles of color-coded cashmere sweaters stacked gorgeously in its front display. The store name instantly caught her eye. After all, Selleb is all about circulating trustworthy and relevant product recs by real people.
Every year, we encounter a handful of brands that resonate with us and get us excited about potential partnerships. And CIRCULAR LIBRARY really checked out. Major kudos for their beautifully well-constructed pieces with an ethical mission of circularity and sustainability. Super impressed, we reached out to them (shoutout to Gia) to see if they could offer the Selleb community a discount so you guys can get a little price break to try out their brands.
They’re kindly offering 15% off your order at Le Cashmere and/or Re;Code with code ‘SELLEBSISTERS15’. Or if you’re in LA and visit in person, show them this newsletter to get 10% off in-store!! Definitely worth a visit! Disclaimer: There are no financial incentives for us. No paid promotions here. We are just excited to share this unique find with our readers <3
With that let’s get to OUR finds, YOUR finds, and the BEST DEALS — honest reviews backed by receipts. Let’s do this…
What I Actually Bought
Le Cashmere Recycled Cotton Hoodie (also on sale): GRS-certified recycled cotton yarns (international certification, transparent supply-chain). Easy peasy throw-on for those cool, breezy summer evenings out when you are clad in short shorts and even shorter sleeves. Love this color too.
Philz Oatmeal Cookie (not the cold brew): As sisters and telepaths, we have similar quirks and habits that spill into our morning coffee order. Oatmeal cookie with light ice and a splash of oat milk is it. You won’t regret it. One of our favorite coffee orders ever. But shhhh it’s on the secret menu — only the real ones know.
Line by K Ximeno Tank via Poshmark (similar here here and here): Been keeping our eye on this for a while now… Couldn’t pass up this offer on Poshmark for 1/2 the price. The material is so soft, and the cut is super flattering. A standout tank for those lazy hot summer days.
Margo Tapered Pocket Pant: If Labor Day means “goodbye white,” Memorial Day means “hello white.” Chloe is christening the summer with this white number. Casual, comfy, and perfect fit. Love Leset for nailing the basics — inspo below.
Naturium The Smoother Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Body Wash: Claims to banish small bumps and in-grown hair while ALSO being friendly to sensitive skin. Saw on
. We are trying it and so far, so great :)
What YOU Actually Bought
@thekateowen (photographer @aerialthoughts) / Afternoon Light Divide Clock: “I’ve been wanting a wall clock for a while, but also I hate the idea of having a dinner party and checking it. So it’s been a big "Do I Don’t I.” In the end I caved. Time won’t stop me from having a good time! This clock is one of my favorite colors so I couldn’t resist.”
@tariro.makoni (Strategy at Amazon Web Services + Content Creator) / Fellow Carter Move Mug): “I have a deep obsession with hoarding water/coffee/tea vessels. Love a mug, love a water bottle, but have NOT cracked the code on the travel mug (I hate when they spill from the drinking hole when you walk)!! I go on a lot of long walks and feel entitled to buying a little treat (a matcha/coffee/etc) every time (which…. in this economy???). So I decided that buying something to combat buying more things would solve my problems. The fellow Carter mug in buttered popcorn is everything I need it to be, minimal but substantial, a dopamine color that’s chic but fun, and seals shut so I can aggressively swing it around when im strolling!!!!”
@brookecallahan (designer and founder of Brooke Callahan) / Maj Kiosk Tanks: “I usually try to keep my tee/tank budget secret out of embarrassment but my latest haul from Maj Kiosk is worth the share. I have a bad habit of justifying anything simple and colorful as a "styling purchase" because I know the pieces will pair so well with my pants and skirts on instagram. What's wrong with an investment portfolio full of $145 halter bras? ;)”
@maritzalyoes (arts & culture creative strategy / @tesla @playboy @lacma @apple @microsoft @hammer_museum) / Roa Black Lhakpa Sneakers (similar here here and here): "Below are pair of shoes I bought recently I was told they are hot Aspen mom walking shoes although I brought them to the snow and quickly realized they’re not really designed for snow, but when someone invites me to Aspen next, I’ll be ready to walk around and cute footwear.”
@baptistebouygues (founder of Ormaie Paris, this article will get you hooked on the brand) / Vintage Brass Elephants from Etsy (similar here and here): “I lived in Thailand when I was a child and remember always wanting to touch the elephants. I guess that's why I have been buying every brass elephant I can find ever since.”
