What I Actually Bought #090
We're hiring, Jess Graves's pre-order from The Row, and Natasha Stagg sells (out)
Over the weekend, Chloe spoke at a consumer panel for Stanford’s FashionX where she talked all things Selleb — the most surprising behaviors on the app, our thesis on the future of recommendation culture, the weirdest, most radical/surprising/expensive/rogue/choose-your-fighter purchases users have ever submitted, tips & tricks to skip our waitlist ;), and more. A huge thanks to all who came! We are always on the lookout for engineers who are mission-aligned, high-output self-starters, so if this is you (or someone you know), we’d love to hear from you. Feel free to shoot over your resume to sisters@selleb.com.

**IMPT REMINDER** We now have a NEW official app waitlist! Pls fill out this (super) quick form to get on. This is a CHANGE from our previous policy that placed you on the waitlist automatically when you signed up for our newsletter. New users have been getting on in batches every few days.
And now, let’s turn to what some of the most influential tastemakers on the internet are ACTUALLY buying and the BEST DEALS for the week.
What You Actually Bought
@jessnellgraves (the mind behind THE LOVE LIST ) / The Row Tina Jacket: “I pre-ordered the Tina jacket the second I saw it on the runway -- the personal shopping team at MyTheresa is so fantastic, and they're great at making sure you get your hands on the pieces you love. I've been styling it with jeans and flat sandals, as well as The Row's Signum heels when I want it to be a tad dressier. I style it closed, almost more like a top than outerwear, and pin it in the back with one of Studio Deve's letter pins so it stays secure. It's been a perfect piece for this indecisive spring weather in New York.”
Natasha Stagg (writer of books such as Sleeveless ~highly recommend~ & behind Selling Out) / Vintage Bally Leather Bag (similar here): “It’s just a nice leather bag, the right size and pretty discreet.”
Edmond Lau (viral meme creator, writes World of Eso) / Sacai White Poplin Shirt: ”I’ve had a huge wardrobe purge recently after realising that I hate almost everything I own. So, rebuilding from the ground up at the moment. A nice white shirt is always necessary and this Sacai one is made a bit more interesting through a double panel. (Don’t hate me, rushed out the door and didn’t iron it.)”
Emma Withers (music researcher at Sizzer ) / Music scores from G. Henle Verlag: “I’ve been playing the piano since I was very young and recently started taking lessons again. Practicing the piano for me is a total escape from everything, a feeling of totally giving myself over to something; about patience and work and reward. Buying beautiful music scores has become a really fun part of this. G. Henle Verlag is a German music publishing house specialising in Urtext editions of classical music and I love the colour and the font they use. They feel very crisp and romantic. I once read about how Jaqueline Rose painted a room in her house the blue of Freud’s standard edition, like she had just sub consciously chosen the colour without realising why until she unpacked her books and I feel a bit like this about this blue, like it’s sort of snuck into my life in a way where when I think about a colour for anything this is the one that is immediately there.”
@rebeca.florescuevas (stylist) / Marni Bow Ballet Flats: “I recently bought another pair of flats (doesn't sound so fun, I know). There's one thing fashion stylists are always doing, and that is walking. Shoes are my favorite thing to spend money on, my one and only rule is that no matter how expensive the shoe is, I must wear them. -Friends, really apply this to every clothing item; we don't have enough closet real estate in this city to be keeping things "for later"-. I'm committed to wearing them -- REALLY wearing them. Still, it takes a lot of me to let go of a pair, I tend to wait until they're hanging by the last thread. The day I found myself googling more vintage blue japanese silk thread to keep patching my old flats, I knew it was time. I wanted something that was fun, easy, girlytown potential you know? and good to wear every day. My flats go everywhere with me—corepower, whole foods, showrooms, photoshoots, the crosby hotel, bars, something fun, but not too fun. These Marni leather bow flats felt like the perfect companion. Needless to say, I'm in love!!!! Attached is also a photo proof of my beloved Miu Miu ballerina flat in baby blue, which is now being promoted to a shoe with sentimental value.”
