What We Actually Did

Left-to right, top-to-bottom: We’re back in our favorite place in the world!!! (Kona guide here, part 2 otw ;)), hiker’s fog, caught not raised, December in Hawaii, the #1 dessert in the world (not a hyperbole. only this location. if you agree we are immediate friends), Hualalallalalalalallalai, swinging it, Selleb Sisters’ Bro (!!! @bro on Selleb LOOL), found our new favorite poke spot on the island shhhh
And now, the main event: what some of the coolest people on the internet are actually buying…
What You Actually Bought
@jennaisafeeling (designer, writer, behind Feeling! Magazine) / Xenia Taler Rolli Plates: “I ordered the new Rolli plate designs from Xenia Taler. They just released yesterday, and I am so excited. Part of my work for Substack is planning and executing dinner parties. So I am constantly sourcing dinnerware that photographs beautifully. It is truly a delight that I even have the opportunity to do work like this!”

@marypeffer (photographer, writer, healthcare CMO) / Vintage Chanel Unlimited Clutch (similar here): “Chanel and Hermès are the only two luxury houses whose handbags have consistently and historically increased in monetary value over time. And I’m at the stage in life where I’m attracted to investments.
I’m really proud of this vintage early-aughts oversized Chanel CC Rue Cambon clutch I scored from MyTheresa via Vestiaire. I have an aversion to most colors and fashion with words on it, but this reads neutral to me in the same way leopard print does. I punched the air in victory when the seller accepted my low bid (the same bag is selling on Moonstone Vintage for over $1,700).
IMO, vintage Chanel bags are usually better quality than modern production. An ex bought me a new Chanel bag from Barneys (R.I.P.) years ago, and it looked and felt so cheap. I dumped him and sold the bag for more than he paid for it a few weeks later. Taste is a major tenet of mine. And in the words of Countess Luann de Lesseps, money can’t buy you class.”

@the.corner.booth (restaurant guru, behind Corner Booth) / Clemente Bar Martini Kit: “I recently bought the Clemente Bar Martini Kit as a birthday gift for my sister, as a little nod to one of our favorite shared memories. Right when it opened last year, my sister and I beelined to Clemente Bar, the ultra-chic cocktail spot tucked upstairs inside Eleven Madison Park. We were instantly entranced, sitting in a corner booth next to Gabriela Hearst in one of the most beautiful rooms in New York. Guided by the fantastic bartender Richie Millwater, we sipped on inventive cocktails like the Negroni Colada (for me) and the Clemente Martini (for her). One drink became two, as we simply couldn’t pull ourselves away from the allure of this place. So when I saw they had released a kit, complete with the same spiral coupes, curry olive oil and saffron bitters they use to craft the martini she loved so much, I had to get it for her. It’s such a fun way to relive the night and bring a bit of that magic back home. It also perfectly captures the spirit of Corner Booth, which is all about celebrating the full restaurant experience, from the food and the setting to the memories that stay with you long after you’ve left.”

@harisfazlani (co-founder of Works.Studio) / Design of Kenya Hara book (similar here): “I have a deep appreciation for the work of Kenya Hara, and continue to learn so much from his approach. He embraces a very intentional use of emptinesgoos and views design as less of an aesthetic layer on top of things, but more a means to uncover the true essence of something. In this time where most of our problems in the first world come from excess, I’m really only interested in a return to purity, and trying to use design as a vehicle for stillness.”
@gillian__orr (writer, editor, former Editor-in-Chief of Refinery29 UK, behind Slouching Towards Bethnal Green) / A Night at The Pig Hotel: “The Pig is a collection of boutique hotels set in various bucolic locations around England and I’ve just booked a night at the Pig near Bath for a wedding next month. It’s also the place where those in the know go to recover straight after Glastonbury, which is 20 minutes away, and they do a big barbecue on the Monday and festival goers turn up covered in mud, shower, and then continue the party. Mondays at the Pig near Bath can be messier than the Glastonbury weekend. I’m looking forward to staying there without a three-day hangover and the Pyramid stage ringing in my ears.”
